Frequently Asked Questions
Pain, particularly chronic pain, can alter a person’s life dramatically. Currently there is a movement in medicine to reduce the number of prescriptions of narcotic pain killers for chronic pain because of addiction, misuse, or both. On top of that, over the counter medicines for pain can have serious side effects that leave people unable to utilize them. While we do believe in medicine, we believe in using as little as possible. If a person is taking a certain amount of medicine per day, but can get that amount cut in half, or more, then the negative effects of that medicine can be reduced as a result. We also believe that every person we see should already have had a thorough medical workup in order to determine the cause of the problem. While we can work with an undiagnosed individual, we will be diligent to refer out if we uncover any “red flags” or if the person does not respond favorably to therapy in a few visits. It is of utmost importance to know what is going on before attempting to treat it in case the cause of the pain is coming from something more serious. Our goal is to provide a service that compliments medical treatment, not to warn against it.
While both massage and myotherapy can be used to help with discomfort that arises from the soft tissue, myotherapy is typically a better choice for sub-acute (30 days – 3 months) and chronic issues (3 – 6 months and longer) while massage tends to lend itself as better suited for acute issues. There are, however, exceptions to this rule and, in the years we have been providing these services, we have found the best way to decide is to try both. Some people even come in for both services. Many of those people have one of our massage memberships which allows them to receive a discount on their service for committing to a minimum of one massage per month. Under these plans, a 10% discount on myotherapy services is applied as a perk of membership.
In addition to massage and myotherapy, we offer skin care services (currently only in our Greensburg location.) Those services include facials, microdermabrasion, Intense pulsed light (IPL), and waxing. We use an all natural product line from Hungary called Eminence Organic Skin Care. These are some of the finest skin care products available and we are excited to have found them and have them for sale. The manufacturer keeps true to their word in provided a completely chemical free product and our clients love it. Even the product seals are organic as they use a sugar based binding rather than a chemical adhesive. Come in and give it a try and we are sure you will love it as well!
Yes. All of our appointments are secured by credit cards. Your credit card will never be billed unless you do not show for an appointment or if you cancel your appointment inside of 24 hours before your appointment start time.
Of course, we recognize certain life situations can arise and we deal with those on a case by case basis. As always, during the winter months, when inclement weather prohibits you from making it to your appointment, we leave it up to you to decide whether or not you can make it to our office.
Please consider the livelihood of your therapist as they usually only see 4 or 5 appointments per day (max.) This means that every person is 25%/20%, respectively, of that therapist’s daily income. If you do not want to give your credit card information over the phone, you may create an account online by clicking the “Login I Register” link at the top right portion of this page. This connection utilizes all of the security that is considered “industry standard” and is not managed by us, but rather a third party who specializes in this type of security.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who does not comply with this policy.
We currently do not offer “couples” style massages where two people can be massaged at the same time and in the same room.
All of our therapists are licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. According to state law, every massage therapist must take a minimum of 24 hours of state approved continuing education courses, which include ethics, CPR, and child abuse awareness and is to be completed every two years in order to renew their license.
