Arthritis & Bursitis

Many times the diagnosis of arthritis or bursitis is given to people who have pain around the joints. However, most of this pain is actually stemming from the soft tissue of the body. Pain diagnosed as arthritis or bursitis is usually focalized or tender to touch.

Arthritis occurs commonly in the knees, hips, elbows, and fingers. The condition causes a lack of range of motion and pain in the affected area. Therapy is geared to restoring range of motion of the joint as well as client ‘homework’ so a person may treat themselves effectively at home.

There are other considerations for arthritis, especially if it is occurring on both sides of the body. The condition may be caused by a systemic disorder and should be evaluated by a healthcare practitioner who is licensed to diagnose. At The Pain Treatment & Wellness Center, we have a network of practitioners who will be able to help you.
